About the Artist

My artistic journey unfolds much like navigating a map, where lines delineate space and guide the viewer's gaze.

Beginning with the tactile pleasure of brush meeting canvas, I embark on a voyage of color and emotion. Guided by anxious energy, my brush shapes the underpainting with bold strokes, while my mind seeks control in crafting precise, organic forms. Amidst overthinking and analysis paralysis, I find solace in the act of painting, allowing my breath and creativity to transcend my ego's grasp.

My art is both a therapeutic odyssey for myself and a visual narrative for viewers. Embracing spontaneous intuition, I explore the interplay of light and dark, prioritizing the process over the final outcome. Through rhythmic shapes and vibrant contrasts, I aim to both soothe and excite, inviting viewers on a journey of discovery and delight.

Drawing inspiration from the line work of Alphonse Mucha and Charles Rennie Mackintosh, as well as the texture and brushstrokes of Van Gogh and Monet, I weave a tapestry of influences into each piece. Each painting becomes a unique chapter in an ongoing narrative, an evolving spiral of growth and exploration. From cherished memories to organic shapes, I draw from my surroundings and experiences to fuel my creative expression.

The spontaneous journey of creation fuels my passion and quells my insatiable desire to create, leading me down unpredictable paths of discovery with each new piece.

Erin studied art and painting at Central Washington University, where she met her husband, Andy. After over a decade of moving around following their marriage, they returned to western Washington, where they both grew up. Despite taking almost a decade-long break, Erin reignited her passion for painting in early 2023, primarily using acrylics, with her two kids frequently joining her in the studio. Having lived in the desert for several years, Erin developed a deep appreciation for the lush greenery of the Pacific Northwest, her paintings serving as an homage to the region's beautiful plants and landscapes. Whether inspired by a specific place, memory, or simply a native Northwest plant, her work captures the essence of her roots and her love for her home region.
